Samsung Galaxy Note 9 which is expected to arrive this July, will feature Bixby 2.0 with improved natural language capabilities and faster respond faster. Bixby 2.0 is also claimed to be able to hear you even in noisy environments. Samsung says that Bixby 2.0 will be unveiled in 2018 alongside the Galaxy Note 9. The Note 9 itself may launch in August this year.

DJ Koh, Samsung mobile chief, confirmed at MWC 2018 that an updated version of the Bixby virtual assistant will roll out later this year. Here’s what he said:

“For Bixby 1.0, we focused on a fast rollout to the market,” “Expanding the ecosystem was difficult. So Bixby 2.0 will strengthen this aspect and we are working intensely.”

“In December last year, we began taking applications for the public beta version. So far over 800 companies have applied and are testing it,” “At this speed, I think we will be able to unveil Bixby 2.0 when we launch the Galaxy Note 9.”

Bixby 2.0 is said to be available on the software on smart TVs later this year with upgraded speech recognition capabilities. The intelligent assistant is also said to be able to distinguish individual voices when multiple people are speaking.

Bixby 2.0 will be a smarter smart assistant and will be appearing at the same time as the Galaxy Note 9. Gray G. Lee said that Bixby 2.0 would appear on the scene with “enhanced natural language processes, improved noise resistance capability and quicker response times”. Lee said that the Bixby 2.0 is arriving with Samsung’s next flagship in the second half of 2018.
